Here’s what happened to me recently: I needed to reschedule our daughter’s dentist appointment, so I used the online form on their website to choose a new preferred date — super convenient, right? But then, just ten minutes later, I got a call from the dental office.

The staff member wanted to discuss the new appointment date over the phone. While it might sound proactive, all I did was listen on the line for roughly five minutes as she confirmed that my preferred date was indeed available. ⌛️

This experience made me pause and question: Why create an efficient online system just to bypass it with an unnecessary phone call? There was no new information or additional value provided during this interaction, just a simple confirmation that could have been automated or sent via email.
