CES 2023: The Software République and the Région Île-de-France launch the “AI for Urban Mobility” challenge

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled that a Milwaukee County judge overstepped his authority when he ordered the release of more than 800 prisoners due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19 in county jails. The court found that Judge William Pocan did not have jurisdiction to order the releases, as it was not within his authority under state law.

The ruling is a victory for Sheriff Earnell Lucas, who had argued that releasing inmates without consideration for public safety could put citizens at risk. The case will now return to circuit court, where other legal issues with regards to prisoner releases and Covid-19 protocols can be addressed. #WisconsinSupremeCourt #PrisonReleases #COVID19 #JudgePocan #SheriffLucas Read the whole story here: https://www.webnwire.com/ViewPressRel.asp?YId=299903
